LHU to Host Business Guest Speaker

LOCK HAVEN, PA – You have a great business idea – now what? Having an idea is just the beginning. What follows next is another hundred questions about how to transform that idea into a successful venture. So, what does it take to succeed as an entrepreneur? An open mind and perseverance.

Join Mr. Ed Shifflett, partner and head of scientific affairs at AlphaBioCom, on Wednesday, April 16th, at 6:45 p.m. in the Hamblin Hall of Flags, 115 Robinson Hall. Mr. Shifflett is a 1996 alumnus of Lock Haven University and currently, serves on the LHU Alumni Association Board of Directors. He will share about his passion, openness, and perseverance that led to leadership roles in medical communications.

Mr. Shifflett and his business partner own two businesses, AlphaBioCom and QSci Communications. Both businesses provide medical communications services to the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device industries. His journey to being a business owner started with a BS in Health Science from Lock Haven University, MS in Exercise Physiology from Virginia Tech, and PhD in gastrointestinal physiology from North Carolina State University. While Mr. Shifflett followed a classic academic route, this was not his true calling. He never lost focus of wanting to have his own business and will share his success story.
