LHU Football to host Veteran's Appreciation Day on Saturday
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University football team is set to host a Veterans Appreciation Day on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. when the Bald Eagles host Kutztown.
Saturday's celebration in being co-sponsored by the LHU football program and the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps. The event is being held in conjunction with Veterans Day to be celebrated on Monday, Nov. 11.
As part of the game, a number of special events are planned to honor our local veterans for all they've done to protect our freedoms.
The Bald Eagles will also sport a special helmet decals and commemorative jersey patches, honoring all military branches and wars. Talon, the Lock Haven University mascot will also be dressed the part and he's calling for a camo-out at Hubert Jack Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The game will start with a very special presentation of the colors, which will be conducted by locals members of Team RWB. Team RWB is transforming the way that America supports its veterans as they transition from service member to civilian. We are creating communities of veterans, their families, and American citizens that enjoy authentic interaction through physical and social activities.
During the game and at halftime we will recognize a number of local veterans including 150 LHU Student Veterans. All of the branches of the military are represented by these veterans – Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard.
