Lock Haven University Sport Administration Students to Hold 8th Annual Turkey Trot 5K

Lock Haven, PA – Lock Haven University Sport Administration students will be hosting the 8th Annual Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk on Sunday November 24, 2013. Registration for the course will open at 10 AM. Registration is $15 prior to the event and $20 the day of the race. All proceeds from this year’s event will go to two worthy causes: Dawn Shoemaker, daughter of LHU Campus Safety Officer Frank Shoemaker, who is living with Rett Syndrome, a pervasive developmental disorder; and Bill Richards, a spring 2013 LHU Sport Administration graduate fighting Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.

The first 100 individuals to register will receive a free event t-shirt. Great prizes generously donated from local businesses and sport industry partners will be awarded to top finishers and top age group finishers. There will also be raffles for additional prizes. Prizes and raffles will be awarded during the post-race party where participants can also enjoy music, food and beverages. Students, staff, faculty and local community members of all ages are encouraged to attend.
