September 10, 2014 - Cadet Mercedes Yurkovich, who attends Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania, spent part of her summer in the Dominica Republic as a translator for military and civilian dentists on a medical mission in the area.

September 15, 2014 - Lock Haven University will host a planetarium show on six different Friday's throughout this school year. The "Astronomical Fridays" will begin at 12:45 p.m. in the Ulmer 232 Planetarium and the group will be observing the sky at night looking at the moon, planets, stars, star clusters, stellar nurseries, stellar corpses and galaxies.

September 17, 2014 - Dr. Jonathan Stout, Assistant Professor of Special Education, is currently serving on the 2013-2016 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) Questionnaire Standing Committee (QSC). This committee includes experts in survey design and methodology and in educational research and practice and is chaired by Roger Tourangeau, an expert in survey methodology.

September 17, 2014 - Lock Haven University recently held their annual Convocation ceremonies, marking the beginning of the Fall 2014 academic year. Dr. Donna Wilson, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs welcomed both audiences.

September 17, 2014 - Keith Folmar, a 1991 graduate of Lock Haven University, and his wife, Pennie Folmar, have created Folmar Family Scholarship in memory of Keith's mother, Judy (Williams) Folmar, a 1964 graduate of Lock Haven University. By establishing this scholarship, Keith and Pennie hope to provide an opportunity to students who may not otherwise discover their possibilities due to financial obstacles. "Sometimes the financial commitment is a hurdle for students, and we hope that this scholarship will help overcome this hurdle, realizing that a college education is possible and valuable," said the Folmars.
