Accepted Students Day at Lock Haven University
University welcomes members of Class of 2016
May 17, 2012
Lock Haven University welcomed members of the class of 2016 to campus on Saturday, April 21. The first annual Accepted Student Day was planned in conjunction with LHU’s Crimson and White Weekend. Incoming freshmen and their families enjoyed the spring football game and had an opportunity to mingle with current LHU students. The day ended with a spring carnival where members of LHU’s clubs and organizations hosted carnival-style games while also sharing information about their programs.
Ms. Robin Rockey, interim director of admissions, stated, “I could not have been more pleased with the outcome of the day. Parents enjoyed learning more about LHU and what to expect before the start of classes this fall, while students enjoyed meeting their classmates and learning about different clubs and organizations.”
Local businesses donated a number of items that were raffled off as prizes and also served as a way to inform students of businesses in the area. Accepted Student Day is a new tradition at LHU, and staff members look forward to hosting the program again next year.
