Easter Egg Extravaganza!

LHU honor fraternity hosts egg hunt, other activities

March 26, 2012

Lock Haven University’s Phi Sigma Pi will host an Easter Egg Hunt at Hanna Park at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 1.

This free event is for children ages 3 to 12.

The members of Phi Sigma Pi, a coeducational honor fraternity at LHU, have been working on this event all semester.  Adam Osborne of Phi Sigma Pi commented, “The entire fraternity really enjoys working with kids, so this is an event that we take pride in planning and that we cannot wait for!  We also try our best to get involved in the community, so this is an enjoyable and worthwhile way to do it."

Osborne added that the  event “will be far from small.”  The fraternity members will hide over 800 eggs for the children to find, and there will be other activities for the children to participate in.  There will be an opportunity to get a picture with the Easter Bunny himself, as well as a craft which will be making a picture frame out of popsicle sticks.

The children will be divided into groups around the park in order to make the actual Egg Hunt fair.  Each group of children will have approximately 200 eggs to find.
