LHU Symphonic Band concert honors President Michael Fiorentino Jr.

The Lock Haven University symphonic band hosted their annual President’s Concert on Sunday, April 22, marking a 38 year tradition. The concert was held to honor Lock Haven University President Dr. Michael Fiorentino Jr.
The selections played during the concert were:“Marriage of the Figaro” by W.A. Mozart, arranged by Earl Slocum; “American Civil War Fantasy” by Jerry Bilik; “Incantation and Dance” by John Barnes Chance; “Emblem of Unity” by J.J. Richards; and “Among the Clouds” by Brian Balmages. The band prepared this repertoire in approximately a month under the direction of Professor Jack Schmidt, the conductor.
The concert also honored those in the band who are graduating from Lock Haven University this semester.
Lock Haven University is a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), the largest provider of higher education in the commonwealth. Its 14 universities offer more than 250 degree and certificate programs in more than 120 areas of study. Nearly 405,000 system alumni live and work in Pennsylvania.
