President Fiorentino expands the duties of alumni director

October 19, 2012

Lock Haven University President Michael Fiorentino has expanded the duties and job title of Dr. Tammy Rich, Director of Alumni Affairs. Dr. Rich’s new title Executive Director of Alumni Affairs and Special Events commences immediately.

As an effort to better align and more efficiently manage major university-wide special events, and create a cohesive university-wide calendar, Dr. Rich has been asked to provide leadership and direction to all LHU constituent groups planning and implementing university-related special events. This includes working with staff to schedule events as well as managing logistics and maintaining expenses.

The Office of Alumni Affairs and Special Events will also assume the responsibility for the management of the Durrwachter Alumni Center and eventually create a visitor center feel to the foyer area of the center. “We believe it is important for the university to maximize our resources as well as provide a consistent process and protocol for university-wide events. I am confident Dr. Rich will be the conduit we need to optimize the center’s opportunities,” says President Fiorentino.

The new Office of Alumni Affairs and Special Events will become part of the External Relations and Communications department and Dr. Rich and her staff will report to Rodney Jenkins, Executive Assistant to the President for External Affairs and Communications.
