Fraternities and sororities involved in promoting, setting up, tearing down and work throughout the day included: Alpha Sigma Phi, Alpha Chi Rho, Kappa Delta Rho, Pi Lambda Phi, Phi Mu Delta, Alpha Sigma Tau, Zeta Tau Alpha, Sigma Kappa and Sigma Sigma Sigma.

Local volunteer Pat Adams says she never misses a LHU blood drive. She stated, “The kids are what keep me coming back.” Other LHU staff involved in the event included coordinators Dr. Carol Latronica, Dean of Student Development; Wendy Walsh, Student Life Coordinator; and director Brad Dally and his student staff at the Rec Center. Aramark, Inc., dining service provider for the university, donated food for the event.

The drive was to officially end at 6 p.m., but because the tremendous turn-out the event lasted until 7 p.m.

LHU holds up to five donation events a year, not including drives held elsewhere in the area. A two-day drive is in the planning stages for the end of October. Go online to www.redcrossblood.org to find a blood drive that fits your schedule.
