BINGHAM FARMS, Mich. – July 25, 2012 – Margery Krevsky, a Harrisburg, Pa. native, and founder and CEO of the largest premier full-service talent management agency in the Michigan, Productions Plus–The Talent Shop, was recently recognized by her alma mater, Lock Haven University (LHU) for her distinguished business practices and commitment to the community. In honor of the university’s 1966 graduate and Council of Trustee member, Lock Haven University established the Krevsky Scholarship for the Arts, an annual scholarship awarded to a student studying in an arts-related field, with preference granted to a student studying piano performance.

The LHU Foundation recently awarded the first full Krevsky Scholarship for the Arts to Jessica Walizer. A rising senior majoring in music education and piano performance, Walizer was chosen as the scholarship recipient following an audition on April 27 in the Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center.

Krevsky is a passionate supporter of the arts and is committed to the success of the students at LHU, which recently joined the ranks of elite music schools such as Yale University, the China Conservatory of Music, the Curtis Institute of Music and the Juilliard School. Lock Haven University is an official All-Steinway School, designated by Steinway & Sons. LHU is equipped with brand new Steinway-designed instruments that fill its classrooms, practice rooms and performance venues.

“I am deeply grateful and honored by the generosity of the donors who stepped forward to create this scholarship at the university,” said Krevsky.

“The arts are an important part of an education, as they always have been. The Krevsky Scholarship for the Arts is a demonstration of our commitment to continue to provide opportunities for students to study the arts,” said Keith O. Barrows, executive director of the LHU Foundation.

The Krevsky Scholarship for the Arts will enable Jessica to pursue her passion and focus even more on her craft. “I was wowed by Jessica’s talent and am delighted to support her music education,” added Krevsky.

Walizer is equally grateful for the award and said, “It is a dream come true to have my senior year funded by this scholarship.”

Applicants are encouraged to apply for scholarships through the Foundation’s website, www.lhufoundation.org, or by contacting the Foundation at the Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center, 10 Susquehanna Avenue, Lock Haven, Pennsylvania 17745.

Lock Haven University is a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), the largest provider of higher education in the commonwealth. Its 14 universities offer more than 250 degree and certificate programs in more than 120 areas of study. Nearly 405,000 system alumni live and work in Pennsylvania.
