Counseling:
As a counselor he has worked in mental health, crisis intervention,
child and family counseling and education settings. Several formative
years in his career were devoted to group therapy work and crisis
intervention under the guidance and supervision of well-known
psychiatrist Dr. P.K. Pandelidis and psychologist Joe Kochansky.
Under Joe Kochansky's supervision he also worked in child and
family counseling for five years. Much of the rest of his counseling
experience took place working with at-risk, academically marginal
college students.
Education:
Nate has served as a faculty member at Lock Haven University
of Pennsylvania for eleven years. In addition to teaching, he
has served as the chairperson for the Academic Development and
Counseling Department and Director of Student Support Services.
He provided support services to students with disabilities and
was an advisor for many undeclared freshmen and sophomore students.
In May 2001, he joined the Physician Assistant and Graduate Studies
in Education Department.
Management:
Nate provides management consulting services to human service
and education agencies. Areas of expertise include program development,
program evaluation, supervision and grant writing. He served as
a Director for American Health Management, Children's Aid Society
(child abuse prevention program), Infant Development Program,
and the Student Support Services project at LHUP.
Professional Interests:
Education and counseling issues for high risk children, youth
and families.
