On Thursday, October 1, 2009, the President's Commission on the Status of Women, Office of Human and Cultural Diversity, Women's Studies Minor, Safe Zone, and Ethics Center co-sponsored a reception for and presentation by Stephen Glassman. Stephen Glassman, the Chairperson of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, was the first openly gay person appointed to a political office. He spoke with the campus and local community of issues related to social justice for women, LGBT individuals, and people of color.
