Lock Haven Community Resources
Lock Haven University and the Lock Haven community have a variety of opportunities and resources available for students, faculty, and staff to use. Below are just a few of the resources available.
Office of Social Equity
The Office of Social Equity is responsible for ensuring that Lock Haven University is an environment of equality for all members, regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, or disability. Women's Studies Minor
Lock Haven University offers a minor in women's studies. The Women's Studies minor program offers several workshops, seminars, and activities each semester, many of which are open to the public as well. For more information on the women's studies minor, and the programs it sponsors, please visit the Women's Studies website.
Lock Haven University has dedicated offices for Public Safety, Health Services, and Counseling Services. These resources are available to all members of the LHU community. Public Safety can be reached at 484-2278 (or Glennon Infirmary Building). Health Services can be reached at 484-2276 (or Glennon Infirmary Building). Counseling Services can be reached at 484-2479 (Russell Hall).
Parent-Student Day Care Discount
This opportunity is available to full-time students with children. The university will pay 30% of child care costs if the child is enrolled in one of the three day care centers that have an established contract with LHU. The child care centers are:
Building Blocks (located at 225 E Church St)
All Things Bright and Beautiful (located in Avis)
Lock Haven Day Care (located on Susquehanna Ave)
Women's Center - Downtown Lock Haven (34 W Main St)
The Women's Center works with both women and men who are victims of domestic abuse or sexual assault
