LHU Physician Assistant student receives state scholarship award

Amy Klinger

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants has announced that Lock Haven University student Amy Klinger is a recipient of the Nathanial Alston Student Achievement Award.

Klinger, who is originally from Nashua, NH is a graduate of Nashua Senior High School. She went on to graduate from Daniel Webster College in Nashua with a Bachelor of Science in Flight Operations in 1999 prior to enrolling in LHU’s Physician Assistant Program.

The $1,000 scholarship award is presented annually to six individuals in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in order to help recognize students who have demonstrated the highest standards of conduct that promote goodwill, public recognition and professional development of the Physician Assistant profession.

Recipients must be students in good standing at an accredited Pennsylvania Physician Assistant Program, a member of the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants at the time of application and must demonstrate outstanding involvement in their respective Physician Assistant Program, community and professional activities.

“Nate Alston, a retired PA faculty from the Hahnemann University PA Program, dedicated his entire career as an advocate for physician assistants in Pennsylvania,” said Walter Eisenhauer, director of the Physician Assistant Studies Program. “We are very proud of Ms. Klingler’s accomplishments while a student in the program and her success in winning this competitive award.”
