Public invited to LHU combat medic statue dedication and Health Professions open house

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven University Physician Assistant Program is inviting the general public to the dedication of a statue honoring the role of U.S. combat medics and to an open house and tour of the new Michael R. Greenburg Auditorium and LHU Health Professions building on Friday, June 6.

The combat medic statue dedication ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. outside the LHU Health Professions building, 432 Railroad St.

“The statue is in recognition of the origins of the physician assistant profession and also of those combat medics who gave their lives in service to the U.S.,” said Walter Eisenhauer, LHU Physician Assistant Program chair. “It was made possible through several generous donations.”

The statue is the second bronze reproduction of the original artwork housed by the University of Utah Physician Assistant Program and is only one of three statues of its kind, Eisenhauer said.

At 11 a.m., a tour of the Greenburg Auditorium will be conducted and an open house will be held.

“The Greenberg Auditorium is the result of a generous $100,000 donation to the LHU Foundation,” Eisenhauer said. “It represents a state of the art auditorium that will be used by physician assistant and other health science students at Lock Haven University, as well as host local and regional continuing medical education lectures.”

The Health Professions building is the former Keystone Central School District Vo-Tech building and has been completely renovated to meet the needs of the Health Sciences Department and the Physician Assistant Program

Special guests include: state Rep. Michael Hanna; state Sen. John Wozniak; Tim Egan, PA-C, president AAPA Veterans Caucus; and Michael Huff, Pennsylvania Deputy Secretary for Health Planning and Assessment.
