LHU Women’s Studies Program offers workshop on alternative therapies

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven University Women’s Studies Program is presenting a free workshop on alternative therapies on Tuesday, April 1 at 7 p.m. in the Parsons Union Building multipurpose room.

Presentations are on the following topics:

- Reiki. The presenter is Joyce Grace Nuttall, who is trained in traditional Usui Reiki and has been practicing and teaching in Lock Haven since 1996. She is a Nationally Certified Trager Practitioner as well as a Reiki master/teacher and has a private practice in Lock Haven.

- Therapeutic massage. The presenter is Sandra W. Rishell, a Certified Massage Therapist who specializes in therapeutic massage and bodywork, integrating these specific techniques: neuro-muscular therapy, deep tissue therapy, trigger point therapy, connective tissue, Swedish massage, lymphatic drainage massage and reflexology. Rishell graduated from Mount Nittany Institute of Health, State College, Pa., and is continuing in her 10th year of service at 57 Bellefonte Ave., Lock Haven.

- Bio-dynamic craniosacral therapy. The presenter is Peggy Scott, a registered biodynamic craniosacral therapist. Scott has a Bachelor of Science in biology from Allegheny College, a Master of Science in biological sciences from the Florida Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in humanistic psychology from International College. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist and graduated from the Florida School of Massage. She is certified as a Rolfer and Advanced Rolfer from the Rolf Institute.

- Yoga. The presenter is Carmen Michelle Rosypal, a registered yoga teacher and a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist. She studied both disciplines at the Mount Nittany Institute of Health in State College, Pa.
