Poet John Hoppenthaler to present his poetry and discuss Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Toni Morrison at LHU

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - As part of LHU’s Up-Write Reading Series, poet John Hoppenthaler will read selections of his poetry and discuss his work with Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Toni Morrison, whom he served as a personal assistant for nine years. The event is free and open to the public and will take place on Monday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the Parsons Union Building. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Poetry editor of “Kestrel” and author of two poetry books from Carnegie Mellon University Press — “Lives Of Water” and “Anticipate the Coming Reservoir” — Hoppenthaler teaches at East Carolina University.

This series is sponsored by the English department and the Women’s Studies Center and is supported with funds from the LHU Foundation and a diversity and equity grant from the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, Office of the Chancellor.
