LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Lock Haven University announces the appointment of Dr. Carlos R. Morales to the position of Executive Director of eCampus and Learning Technologies.

“I am delighted that Dr. Carlos Morales has joined the LHU team to support learning through technological mediation,” said Interim Provost Dr. Roger Johnson. “As director of eCampus, he is involved in all phases of academic outreach, especially distance education. He brings extensive experience and high qualities of leadership to the task, and I look forward to his having a good effect on the university’s initiative to integrate technology into all phases of learning.”

Morales comes to LHU from New Jersey City University’s Center for Instructional and Technological Innovation, Jersey City, N.J., where he served as Instructional Designer. In his role there, he directed operations of the instructional technologies staff as it provided faculty development and support of instructional technology applications in the classroom and for online learning.

He also has extensive online and classroom teaching experience in the areas of Biology, Science Teaching and Instructional Technology. Dr. Morales has been adjunct faculty for the Biology departments of New Jersey City University, Thomas Edison State College, Ocean County College and Seminole Community College. He has served as adjunct faculty for the Educational Technology departments of New Jersey City University and Grand Canyon University. Prior to that, Dr. Morales was Professor of Biology at EDP College of Puerto Rico, Professor of Biology/Education at Metropolitan University, Puerto Rico, and Assistant Professor of Biology at Colegio Tecnológico y Comercial de Puerto Rico.

Morales received a Doctor of Philosophy in Education with an emphasis in Instructional Design for Online Learning from Capella University in 2007. He received a Master of the Arts in Education for science teaching from Inter American University of Puerto Rico in 1997, where he also received a Bachelor of Science for biology/microbiology in 1994.

“I’m honored to join LHU and I look forward to working with the eCampus team, Provost Johnson and the entire LHU community as we integrate distance education and learning technologies for teaching and learning,” Morales said. “The continued growth of distance education in the state of Pennsylvania creates exciting opportunities, and I am thrilled to be able to contribute.”
