Hanelly appointed LHU’s Vice President for Finance, Administration and Technology

Bill Hanelly

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Lock Haven University announces that Bill Hanelly has been hired for the position of Vice President for Finance, Administration and Technology, replacing Robert O. Little, who retired after 18 years of service to the university.

“We welcome Bill Hanelly to Lock Haven University and know he will be a tremendous asset as he brings with him a wealth of corporate knowledge in the areas of budgeting, finance and information technology,” said Dr. Keith T. Miller, LHU President. “As someone who comes to us with broad administrative managerial experience, he is an ideal selection to assist us in sustaining the mission and nurturing the growth of the university.”

Hanelly comes to LHU from C-COR Incorporated of State College, a global provider of network technology to the cable industry, where he served as Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Treasurer from 2001 to the present and as Vice President of Finance, Secretary and Treasurer from 1998 to 2001. Prior to C-COR, he was the Vice President for Finance and Administration at HRB Systems Inc. in State College (now Raytheon) from 1994 to 1998. From 1979 to 1994, Hanelly held various administrative and management positions with government contractors located in the northern Virginia area.

Hanelly received a Master of Business Administration from George Mason University in 1985 and a Bachelor of the Arts in English Literature from Georgetown University in 1978.

"As a central Pennsylvania native, I have a keen appreciation for the important role that Lock Haven University plays in higher education in the commonwealth and as a contributor to the local economy,” Hanelly said. “I am enthused about this opportunity to serve as a member of Dr. Miller's leadership team and hope that my background and experience can be applied to make a contribution to continuing the tradition at LHU of offering a high quality education at an affordable cost."

Lock Haven University is a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), the largest provider of higher education in the commonwealth. Its 14 universities offer more than 250 degree and certificate programs in more than 120 areas of study. Nearly 405,000 system alumni live and work in Pennsylvania.
