Three LHU employees receive Meritorious Recognition Awards

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Three Lock Haven University employees received Meritorious Recognition Awards at the 2009 opening meeting on August 27. Assistant to the President and Associate Director of Human Resources Albert Jones presented the awards.

Judy E. Hughes, Clerical Supervisor, Clearfield Branch Campus was recognized as “a dedicated support staff member, continually providing pleasant and courteous assistance to anyone who comes to her office, calls or emails.” The program also noted that “Judy is always ready to offer help at a moment’s notice.”

Cynthia D. Merryman, Police Supervisor, was recognized in the program as “without a doubt the most reassuring and comfortable individual I have seen in her role.”

Helen L. Wolfe, Custodian, was recognized as “a caring individual who is ready to pitch in and help when called on.” The program also said that “She knows what needs done and the correct way in which to accomplish it.”



Lock Haven University is a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), the largest provider of higher education in the commonwealth. Its 14 universities offer more than 250 degree and certificate programs in more than 120 areas of study. Nearly 405,000 system alumni live and work in Pennsylvania.
