LHU professors receive awards for pedagogy, mentoring and advisement

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - At Lock Haven University’s August 27 opening meeting, awards were presented to recognize faculty pedagogy, mentoring and advisement. Cori J. Myers, assistant professor of business administration, computer science and information technology, presented the awards on behalf of the Linda J. Emanuel Teaching and Learning Center, the Peers’ Choice Awards Committee chaired by Professor Jim Bean, psychology departments, and the Advisement Committee, chaired by Assistant Professor Lisa Weaver, academic development and counseling department.

Lynette Reitz, professor and field work coordinator, sociology/anthropology/social work department, received the TLC Peers’ Choice Award for Pedagogy. Karen Kline, professor and department chair, communication department, received the TLC Peers’ Choice award for Mentoring. Maribeth Hanna Long, associate professor, academic development/counseling department, received the TLC Peers’ Choice Award for Advisement.

The recipients each received a plaque with an inscription of why they were nominated and selected. In addition, they each received a $300 stipend for materials and travel that will enhance teaching and learning. Their names will be placed on a commemorative plaque in the Teaching and Learning Center.
