LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -

Members of the public are invited to “Murder at the Deadwood Saloon,” a night of mystery and fun at Lock Haven University. The Murder Mystery Dinner will take place on Friday, October 9 at 7 p.m. in the Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center.

The evening’s festivities include a dinner served by members of the LHU women’s lacrosse team. Participants will have roles ranging from outlaws to marshals, saloon girls to southern belles, all gathered for Deadwood’s poker tournament. The stage is set for a night of mystery, role-playing and adventure.

This is the third year the women’s lacrosse team is hosting a mystery dinner. According to LHU Women’s Lacrosse Coach Kristen Selvage, “It has been a raging success.” Last year’s theme was “Till Death Do Us part,” a wedding that turned very bad. Selvege said, “We had so many personalities come in character last year and no one would break character for a minute. It was really an enjoyable evening.” Selvege added, “It is up to the guests to provide the real drama. We can’t wait for another Murder Mystery evening!”

The cost for the event is $50 a plate. Guests are encouraged to dress appropriately for an evening in the Deadwood Saloon, but costumes are not required. If guests would like to attend but do not want to participate, they can contact Shannon Houck (shouck@lhup.edu or 570-484-3014) and request a non-participant role.
