LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven Recreation Department and its Special Events class is sponsoring a conference called "Recreation… Bringing It All Together." This event will be held on Wednesday, November 5 at the Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center and the Parsons Union Building. The conference is open to recreation professionals, students from LHU and other universities, and the general public. A special discounted registration fee is offered to students ($5 for LHU students, $10 non-LHU students).
Registration will begin at 8:15 with sessions starting at 8:45 and ending at 3:30. There will be interactive and educational sessions highlighting outdoor, therapeutic, fitness, and community and commercial tracks.
Dr. Jim Cain will deliver they keynote address on team building. Cain is the author of five adventure-based team building books. He holds four engineering degrees, including a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rochester. He is a visiting professor and staff development specialist on team building and experiential education by means of adventure-based and active learning strategies. Cain will be speaking in three of the four sessions with time for questions and comments.
