Kudrick, a Health and Physical education major from Coudersport, Pa., received the Violet Baumgardner Award for her academic achievements, professional service, and potential. She was awarded $1200.
Smith is a Health and Physical education major from Hughesville, Pa. She was awarded the alternate position for the Outstanding Future Professional and has an opportunity to represent Pennsylvania at the Eastern District Convention of the Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance in Lancaster, Pa. in February 2009.
Kudrick and Smith were supported by Paul Ballat and Michelle M. Eaton, faculty advisers to the LHU Health and Physical Education Majors Club. Commenting on the students’ success, Eaton noted, “It is highly unusual for one institution to have winners in both awards in the same year.”
