LHU opens registration for summer programs

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Lock Haven University has announced that registration is now open for LHU summer courses. LHU is offering undergraduate courses on campus and online, with offerings suitable for new college students, continuing students matriculated at LHU and other institutions, returning adults and graduate students.

LHU is providing three summer sessions. Summer Session 1 will run from May 18 to June 19, 2009 and Summer Session 2 will run from June 22 to July 24, 2009. In addition, the university will offer a 10-week session from May 18 to July 24, 2009.

Associate Dean Marianne Hazel pointed out that many of the courses are suitable for teachers seeking Act 48 credit. She also noted some benefits of summer study for new and continuing college students. “Summer courses provide an excellent opportunity for students to take general education courses and to raise their grade-point averages. Earning credits during the summer can also help students to graduate on time,” she said. Registrar Jill Mitchley added, “Online courses enable students to study from home, and they can organize their studies around their summer jobs.” Both Hazel and Mitchley urged interested students to visit the registrar’s website and to register online as soon as possible, as classes often fill up quickly.

Full information on summer course offerings, requirements, registration and fees is available online at www.lhup.edu/summer.
