LHU Pi celebration features pies |

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - On March 13, the Lock Haven University Math Club celebrated Pi Day—with pies. In the middle of campus, faculty members volunteered to be pied in the face by students to raise money for the Math Club. Those who threw the pies also helped the Math Club try to simulate an approximation of pi by dropping a pencil on a sheet of paper. Their approximation was 3.33 which is fairly close to pi’s approximation of 3.14. Math Club President Brian Randall stated, “Pi Day was a great success which was a lot of fun. Students enjoyed a little get-back at their professors. Randall thanked Pi Day coordinator Christina Vidumsky, for a great job. “We plan on celebrating Pi Day next year with more pies,” he added. |
