LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Feeding Clinton County is an annual community service project that started this year. This project was organized by the LHU Student Cooperative Council Executive Board. From October 1-31, student organizations, clubs, athletic teams, residence halls, fraternities and sororities were challenged to see who could raise the most canned goods toward the project.
The Student Athlete Advisory Committee was the club to raise the most cans and won a prize of $500. Second place went to Zeta Tau Alpha, winning a prize of $200.
According the SCC President Christopher Lunden, “We chose to do the food drive this year so the students could have the opportunity to do something great for the community and help out their own clubs in the process. While many clubs do a lot of community service, some do not so with this easy idea, we hoped to have a large effort in the food drive. The project succeeded beyond the planners’ expectations. Lunden stated, “The overall goal was 1,500 and we totaled at 3,215 cans!”
