LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Assistant Professor Anna Mae Smith, associate director of the Lock Haven University Physician Assistant Program, has received the 2009 Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants Educator of the Year Award. The PSPA PA Educator of the Year award honors a Pennsylvania physician assistant educator who inspires, stimulates, and challenges their students and colleagues through outstanding contributions to PA education and the Physician Assistant profession.
Ms. Smith, MMS, PA-C, has been a member of the LHU PA Faculty since 1998. In addition to her teaching and program responsibilities she serves on the Education Committee for the Physician Assistant Education Association.
The award was presented on November 6 at the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants annual meeting and awards ceremony conducted at the Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel.
