LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Lock Haven University students in Professor Marlene Jensen’s marketing classes will be teaming up with local businesses and organizations on two website marketing projects. The students will use their expertise in web design and social networking to assist selected businesses and non-profits with web-based marketing. There will be no charge for their service.
Starting in January, Jensen’s Internet Marketing class will be assigning student teams to create website “landing pages” for local businesses and/or non-profits. A website landing page either takes product orders (or donations) or has a sign-up function so target prospects can sign up to get information from you. It can be the business’s only web page, or it can be a page in the regular website. If you would like your business or organization to be considered for participation in this project, please email Dr. Marlene Jensen at mjensen1@lhup.edu and put “Landing Page” in the subject line.
Also starting in January, Jensen’s Entrepreneurial & Small Business Marketing class will be assigning student teams to create Facebook pages and Twitter accounts for local businesses and/or non-profits. Using social media can help bring in new customers or supporters, especially among younger age groups. If you would like to be considered for the social networking project, please email Dr. Marlene Jensen at mjensen1@lhup.edu and put “Facebook” in the subject line.
Jensen commented, “This is a project that’s truly win-win. Our LHU students can apply their skills in real-life situations, and participating businesses and organizations will get a free web landing page or a free start in Facebook and Twitter.”
Businesses and non-profits will be contacted the first week in January as to whether they have been selected to participate.
