Jerry Updegraff receives Lifetime Service Award: Honored for contributions to higher education

LHU Vice President of University Advancement Jerry Updegraff accepts a Lifetime Service Award from Anne M. Berry, chair of CASE District II and vice president for advancement at Lebanon Valley College.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Jerry Updegraff, Lock Haven University’s vice president of university advancement, received a Lifetime Service Award at the CASE District II achievement awards luncheon on February 8. CASE, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, honored Updegraff for his contributions to higher education over the course of his 42-year career.

The awards program noted that during Updegraff’s tenure at Lock Haven University, the LHU Foundation has received more than $40 million in contributions and other income in support of university scholarships, capital programs and activities. The program also noted his experience in public relations, alumni relations and fundraising at various universities prior to coming to LHU.

Also recognized were Updegraff’s community activities, which include serving as treasurer and past chair of the Clinton County Economic partnership; former member of the Executive Board of the Susquehanna Council of the Boys Scouts of America; former treasurer of Great Island Presbyterian Church; member and past president of the Lock Haven Rotary Club.

Updegraff has recently announced his retirement from Lock Haven University, where he has served for 20 years.

Lock Haven University is a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), the largest provider of higher education in the commonwealth. Its 14 universities offer more than 250 degree and certificate programs in more than 120 areas of study. Nearly 405,000 system alumni live and work in Pennsylvania.
