LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Spaces are still available for students who want to study at Lock Haven University on campus and online, during the summer.
LHU is offering undergraduate courses on both the main and Clearfield campuses and online, with offerings suitable for new college students, continuing students matriculated at LHU and other institutions, returning adults and graduate students.
LHU is providing three summer sessions. Summer Session 1 will run from May 17 to June 18, 2010 and Summer Session 2 will run from June 21 to July 23, 2010. In addition, the university will offer a 10-week session from May 17 to July 23, 2010.
Executive Director of Academic Technology Dr. Carlos Morales indicated that online courses enable students to fit summer school into their work schedule. Graduate online courses geared toward teachers and other working professionals who want to advance their careers are available.
Interim Associate Dean Dr. Cathi Gatewood pointed out that many of the courses are suitable for teachers seeking continuing education credit. She emphasized that earning credits during the summer may also help students to graduate on time. She added, “Some students may want to take general education courses to raise their grade-point averages.” Registrar Jill Mitchley added, “Online courses enable students to study from home, and they can organize their studies around their summer jobs.” Both Gatewood and Mitchley urged interested students to visit the registrar’s website and to register online as soon as possible, as classes often fill up quickly.
Full information on summer course offerings, requirements, registration and fees is available online at www.lhup.edu/summer. Information about technology requirements for online courses are available at: http://www.ecampus.lhup.edu
