LHU MountainServe Center's sleepout raises funds and awareness for Haiti |
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - On Friday April 16th, Lock Haven University's MountainServe office sponsored its bi-annual Sleepout in Lock Haven’s Triangle Park. The event this year focused on raising awareness for Haiti relief and the ongoing rebuilding efforts. Different clubs and organizations participated in the event and the Honors club won the Triple H award (Haven Helping Haiti). The Honors club raised over $300 and collected more than 3000 items of clothing. The social work club is selling t-shirts and will have raised $900. Over 60 students participated in the event and the night was filled with different activities such as building a cardboard house, a scavenger hunt, making Haiti bracelets and presentations by the different clubs. |
