LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - “Eye of the Beholder,” a series of musical themes and improvisations, premiered at Lock Haven University on Tuesday, April 27. Composed and performed by LHU assistant professor Eddie Severn, “Eye of the Beholder” is a musical expression of Severn’s experience with the works of 20th century Dutch artist M.C. Escher, noted for his use of mathematical relationships, interlocking figures, and impossible constructions. Severn, an internationally recognized jazz trumpeter, was accompanied by pianist Steve Rudolph and bassist Josh Davis.
