LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Lock Haven University commemorated Constitution Day on campus on Friday, September 17.
On September 17, 1787, the delegates at the constitutional convention in Philadelphia approved and signed the Constitution, submitting it to the states for ratification. A sufficient number of state conventions ratified it in the summer of 1788, and government operations under the Constitution began in 1789.
The university’s Constitution Day featured a talk at 8:00 and again at 9:05 on Constitutional Concepts: The Bill of Rights, the Elastic Clause, and National Supremacy, delivered by LHU Assistant Professor Robert Storch of the Department of History/Political Science/Economics/Geography.
