LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Lock Haven University’s Institute for International Studies will be hosting a coffee house showcasing Brazilian culture and featuring information about our exchange partner institution, University of Fortaleza (UniFor) on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Avenue 209 Coffee House. The community is invited to this free event.
Brazilian Night is the first multicultural event at Avenue 209 this semester.
Carolina Benevides Santarosa, an exchange student from UniFor studying at LHU, will be at Ave 209 to share information on Brazilian culture and will offer crafts and activities for everyone to enjoy.
Carolina says, “People should know that Brazil is more than carnival and football (soccer). Brazilians are friendly, caring people and come from a mix of cultures.”
Brazilian Night participants are invited to taste traditional coffee, tea (mate), “Garoto” chocolate and other Brazilian specialties.
