Clinton County Women’s Center and LHU Campus Violence Prevention Program host event at Avenue 209

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Clinton County Women’s Center and the Lock Haven University Campus Violence Prevention Program will be at Avenue 209 Coffee Shop on Monday, October 4 from 7am to 7pm to promote domestic violence awareness. CCWC and CVPP staff will be on hand to speak with patrons about domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking and the resources available in the community. Amber Cohick from the Clinton County Women’s Center “hopes everyone will come enjoy some great coffee and live entertainment.” Bear County radio station will be taking call-ins and items will be raffled off throughout the day.

Staff from both agencies will be leading discussion groups aimed at heightening awareness in the community. CVPP Director, Jennifer Bodnar “wants students to know there are trained professionals in the community to deal with these issues.” Resources will also be available for friends and family members of victims of abuse. Graduate Assistant for CVPP, Alicia Perrelli says “it’s a great way to bring the community and campus together for a good cause.”
