CVPP partners with Social Work Club for canned food drive

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven University Campus Violence Prevention Program has partnered with the Social Work Club of Lock Haven University for a canned food drive to stock the pantry of the Clinton County Women’s Center. CVPP is a support service for victims of domestic and dating violence, sexual assault and stalking that works closely with the nearby Clinton County Women’s Center. When women, men and children live in the CCWC shelter, they are responsible for cooking their own meals, so it is crucial to keep the pantry stocked full of nutritious options. CVPP Director Jennifer Bodnar hopes that “we can come together as a campus to ensure that people living in the shelter have a variety of options when it comes to cooking their next meal.”

The Social Work Club and CVPP will be collecting non-perishable food items on Tuesday, October 12 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. outside Bentley Dining Hall and again on Thursday, October 14 from 8 a.m. -2 p.m. on Ivy Lane. Collections will continue on Tuesday, October 26 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Ivy Lane and Friday, October 29 from 8am-2pm in front of Bentley.
If you would like further information, please contact Jennifer Bodnar at jbodnar2@lhup.edu.

The CVPP is supported through a grant awarded by the Office on Violence Against Women, U.S. Department of Justice.
