LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Lock Haven University’s Institute for International Studies will be hosting a coffee house featuring the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival and will be sharing information about our exchange partner institution, Changsha University in Changsha, China on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Avenue 209 Coffee House. The community is invited to this free event.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is a family event that celebrates the completion of the harvest during the full moon. On the evening of the Mid-Autumn Festival, families stay up late and eat moon cakes and gaze at the moon.
Activities include a presentation about the Mid-autumn Festival, Chinese paper folding, family games, and the Chinese students will share information about Lock Haven University’s partner school in Changsha, China. Traditional Chinese Mooncakes and Rose Tea will be served.
The public is invited to come to Avenue 209 to celebrate the festival and get to know students from China.
