Every year, Lock Haven University students in Professor Joseph Calabrese’s microbiology course celebrate Halloween by dressing up as their “favorite microbe.” The tradition has been going on since 1997. The black hooded figure in the front is Yersinia Pestis, more commonly known as Professor Calabrese. Each of the “microbes” behind him had to write a short paper and answer questions about how to diagnose and protect against them.
