LHU students work with community partners to Make A Difference |
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - On October 30th Lock Haven University’s MountainServe Center for Global Citizenship sponsored Make A Difference Day, which is a national day of service. Approximately 75 students participated in the volunteer project. Community partners included the Infant Development Program, Downtown Lock Haven, Millbrook Playhouse, Lock Haven YMCA, and the Salvation Army. The day of service was coordinated by student Americorps members Andrea Brackbill and Margaret Rougeux and the following student clubs and organizations participated: Marine Science Club, Sophisticated Ladies, LHU Americorps Program, LHU Honors Program, Alpha Chi Rho fraternity, Early Childhood Student Group, Biology Club, Ski and Board Club, and Safe Haven. Lock Haven University is a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), the largest provider of higher education in the commonwealth. Its 14 universities offer more than 250 degree and certificate programs in more than 120 areas of study. Nearly 405,000 system alumni live and work in Pennsylvania. |
