LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - For a second consecutive year, ARAMARK, Lock Haven University’s dining service provider, has partnered with the Pennsylvania National Guard to donate Starbucks VIA™ Coffee for Pennsylvania troops serving our country. The “Joe for GIs” program sends a little piece of home to the brave troops overseas who do not have access to a good cup of coffee.
Donation collections begin on Veterans Day, November 11th and continue through November 23, 2010. ARAMARK will match every donation.
Last year, Lock Haven Dining Services collected 267 packs of coffee and, with the matching donation from ARAMARK, sent over 500 three-packs of Starbucks VIA™ Coffee overseas, via the Lock Haven National Guard. This totaled 1,500 cups of premium coffee for the troops.
“We are so proud to support the brave men and women serving our country,” said Ken Amspaugh, Food Service Director, Lock Haven University Dining/ARAMARK. “Our goal is to provide more Joe for GIs than we did last year. We know we can do it with the help of the entire campus community.”
Anyone interested in donating can visit the Starbucks in Bentley Hall at Lock Haven University between November 11t and November 23r, purchase and donate a Starbucks VIA™ Coffee Pack. Offered in regular, decaf, flavored and iced, the coffees can be made instantly with hot or cold water. Once the donations are totaled, Lock Haven Dining Services/ARAMARK will then double the donation by matching the amount of packs donated by their customers.
