Fashion Walk and Charity Auction 2010 to hit the runway at LHU

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Lock Haven University’s Fashion Walk and Charity Auction 2010 will be held on Wednesday, December 1 at the PUB Multipurpose room and Eagle Wing Café from 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. The public is invited to join LHU faculty, staff and students for this event.

The runway show will feature original student work in fabric, clothing, and jewelry designs by four student designers. There will also be a t-shirt, textile and jewelry parade featuring the work of beginning level students.

Dr. Gayatri Devi, assistant professor of English, said, “Faculty and students have worked hard to make the event a colorful, memorable and talented event. Members of the community are involved in the event as well.”

The charity auction will feature the “Art Shirts” created by Save Your Clothing, LHU’s new student/faculty organization which benefits the Native American homeless. Proceeds from the auction will support the 1st Nation Community Health Service and Clinic based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which addresses the physical, social, emotional and spiritual well-being of the Native American homeless and other underserved populations of the southwest.
