LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The public is invited to an artist’s reception in conjunction with the latest art exhibit in the Sloan Fine Arts Gallery on the Lock Haven University campus. The works of LHU art faculty will be on display until February 18. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Friday.
The opening reception will be at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26. Visitors will have an opportunity to meet with the artists and talk with them about their work. This free event is sponsored by the Lock Haven University Art Department in cooperation with the LHU Student Cooperative Council.
The Faculty Art Exhibit showcases the work of five faculty members in a variety of mediums.
The art exhibit also showcases children’s book illustrations in color scratchboard by Professor Philip Huber, paintings in oil and mixed media by Associate Professor Jason Bronner, pottery by Associate Professor Vance McCoy, and pastels and charcoal works by Associate Professor and Department Chair Ray Heffner.
Professor Melinda Hodge will be showing handcrafted jewelry, and two “art shirts” inspired by nature and made from previously-owned shirts and threads. In December, Hodge and her students presented a Fashion Walk and Charity Auction featuring original fabric, clothing and jewelry designs. A DVD of the Fashion Walk and Charity Auction will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Lock Haven University is a member of the Pennsylvania State
