LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Lock Haven University’s Institute for International Studies will be hosting a coffee house featuring Italy. This celebration of Italy will take place on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 6:00pm-8:00 p.m.at Avenue 209 Coffee House. The community is invited to this free event.Lock Haven University is a member of the Pennsylvania State
System of Higher Education (PASSHE), the largest provider of higher education in
the commonwealth. Its 14 universities offer more than 250 degree and certificate
programs in more than 120 areas of study. Nearly 405,000 system alumni live and
work in Pennsylvania.
Davide Gritti, an LHU student from Italy, will be available to talk about Italy’s language, culture and music. Several Italian treats will be available for tasting.
The program will also include information about Lock Haven University’s exchange partner in Italy, The University of Cagliari. The University of Cagliari is located in the capital of the island of Sardinia, a region of Italy. An ancient city with a long history, Cagliari has seen the occupation of several civilizations. Steps away from the beach and home to the Primate Roman Catholic archdiocese of Sardinia, the city is an important regional cultural, educational, political and artistic center, known for its diverse architecture and historic sites.
