LHU art exhibit features the work of graduating seniors

LHU's Graduating Senior Art Exhibit

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Lock Haven University’s spring 2011 Graduating Senior Art Exhibit is showcasing the work of five talented graduating students. The public is invited to view the exhibit which runs until May 7 in the Sloan Fine Arts Gallery.

The exhibit features works in all media, including painting, graphic art, print making, sculpture, pottery and jewelry.

The participating artists are Zena Barry of Myerstown, Lee Timko of East Stroudsburg, Lauren Bennett of Dillsburg, Richard Speicher of Jersey Shore and Sean Maloy of South Williamsport.

The Lock Haven University art program prepares students for careers as working artists and craftspersons, or for work in art-related positions such as preparators in museums or galleries. Students who specialize in graphic and on-line design areas are prepared for work in graphic design firms, advertising agencies, web design firms, magazine and newspaper publishers and amore. The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree provides the foundation needed to enter and succeed in graduate school, opening a potentially greater range of career options.

Lock Haven University is a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), the largest provider of higher education in the commonwealth. Its 14 universities offer more than 250 degree and certificate programs in more than 120 areas of study. Nearly 405,000 system alumni live and work in Pennsylvania.
