LHU inducts new members into Criminal Justice National Honor Society

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven University Chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma National Criminal Justice Honor Society welcomed new members at its 2011 reception and induction ceremony on Wednesday, April 27.

Among the requirements for membership in Alpha Phi Sigma is a 3.2 grade point average, both in the discipline and overall.

The new inductees are Kristin M. Matula, Andrea N. Brackbill, Jay M. Rhoads Jr., Justin R. Price, Allison M. White, Steven G. Geiger Jr., Justin R. Baysore and Joseph W. Bacorn.

The inductees and their guests were welcomed by Dr. Tamson Six, professor and chair of the Department of Criminal Justice and faculty adviser to Iota Sigma Chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, and by Julie Pursell, chapter president. Dr. David L. White, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences congratulated both the inductees and their professors for the hard work and dedication that enabled the students to achieve this honor.

Alpha Phi Sigma is the only Criminal Justice Honor Society for Criminal Justice Majors. The society recognizes academic excellence of undergraduate, graduate students of criminal justice, as well as juris doctorate. Founded in 1942, the society has over three hundred and sixty Chapters. Alpha Phi Sigma is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies.
