Facilities

The Department of Psychology occupies the third floor of one of the newest buildings on campus. We have an experimental laboratory with eight enclosed research cubicles, specialized behavioral training equipment to use with our primates, a neuroscience lab, histological equipment, a walk-in electrophysiological chamber, and a single-cell recording system. The primate, experimental and neuroscience labs are supported with Macintosh and Dell computers. Our computers and those across campus are all linked to the Internet.

Primate and Rodent Colonies

We are the only university in the State System of Higher Education that maintains a colony of squirrel monkeys. The primates are used by faculty and students in non-invasive research studies to explore such cognitive processes as memory, learning, and attention
