COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is desi= gned to help potential employees of the Bionol ethan= ol plant refresh basic mathematics skills and also to introduce and/or refine mathematical concepts necessary in ethanol production.

OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE

The Bionol Mathematics course aims to enable students to:

1)&n= bsp; Refresh ski= lls associated with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percents.

2)&n= bsp; Confidently utilize measurement and dimensional analysis techniques.<= /p>

3)&n= bsp; Acquire appropriate geometry skills.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

All instructional materials are created by the instructor and will be distribut= ed in class or over the Internet.

TEACHING STRATEGIES

During class = time, there will be a lecture and a discussion on new concepts. Some concepts will be presented th= rough “discovery learning” projects.= All concepts will be practiced and reviewed in class as necessary. Students are encouraged to ask the instructor and their peers for help.

This is a non-graded, non-credit course= . There = will be no exams. However, attendance will be taken at each class meeting and all students are expecte= d to participate fully in all activities and complete all assignments.
