Recreation Management Students are required to complete Programming Hours and Service Hours throughout the Lock Haven Community.  This page has been established to help bring different agencies' descriptions, contact information and other helpful hints in order to make the volunteer process easier for you!  If you need any other assistance with anything, please remember that I, the AmeriCorps representative, am here to help you!

Here are a few pointers I have for Completing Service/Programming Hours!

1. Brainstorm

• Come up with project ideas
• Create a goal for a project
• Make contact to preferred agency if needed

2. Paperwork

• Fill out appropriate track service/programming hour form
• Get project approved by advisor

3. Planning  

• Timeline – set up a timeline and stick to if for your project
• Find, collect and store supplies if needed
• Find volunteers or helpers for your project

4. Keep your advisor updated on your project’s progress

5. Day of Service

• Be sure to plan ahead (times, meeting places, information)
• Get project form signed at the end of your service by the supervisor

6. Turn form into advisor for signature

7. Make copy of signed service form for your files

8. Turn original copy into advisor
