Q:  What is a dual major?
A:  A dual major is when a student is declared in two different majors (or the same major but two different concentrations) but both have the same degree. 
Example 1:  Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice
Example 2:  Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance/Economics

Q:  What is a dual degree?
A:  A dual degree is when a student is declared in two different majors with each having a different degree.
Example 1:  Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Bachelor of Science in Sport Administration
Example 2:  Bachelor of Arts in History and Bachelor of Science in Education in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Studies

Q:  What are the requirements to earn the dual degrees?
A:  In order to earn both degrees a student must earn at least 150.0 sh total.  If a student earns less than 150.0 sh, even though he/she completes all requirements for both majors, the student must choose which degree will appear on his/her transcript and diploma.  Once a decision is made, it cannot be changed.  (A note will be included on the student's academic record indicating he/she has met the requirements for both majors but only one degree could be awarded.)

Important Announcement about Area Lodging
As Marcellus Shale drilling continues to attract workers and as the Lock Haven area becomes increasingly popular with visitors, there is unusually high demand for lodging in area hotels and motels.    

Those who are planning to graduate in December 2012 or May 2013 are advised to make lodging arrangements for out-of-town guests as soon as possible.
